Below are three books I HIGHLY recommend that Every New Believer read, study, and implement into their life. Aside from the Holy Scriptures, these three books will have the most positive and powerful impact on an individual's journey with Christ.
Book #1: Strengthening Your Grip, by Charles Swindoll
This is by far the best book I have ever read on Christian living. It covers the most important areas for the growth and spiritual maturity of New Believers. If you want to learn how to live a life that pleases God, this is your book!
Chapters include: Priorities, Involvement, Encouragement, Purity, Money, Integrity, Discipleship, Aging, Prayer, Leisure, Missions, Godliness, Attitudes, Evangelism, Authority, and the Family.
Book #2: Heaven, by Randy Alcorn
You don't often hear pastors preach deeply on this subjectâbut every New Believer should know more about one of the places they'll spend eternity. Did you know the Scriptures mention four Heavens and two Earths? If not, you definitely need to read this book!
It covers a theology of Heaven, the intermediate Heaven, redemption's far reach, resurrection, the restored Earth, our relationship with God, ruling with Christ, what the resurrected Earth will be like, our lives and relationships there, animals, and what we will do in Heaven.
Book #3: Money, Possessions, and Eternity, by Randy Alcorn
Two of the most essentialâand often most complicatedâareas of Christian living are dealing with money and possessions. Our Lord spoke extensively on these topics. This book covers them in depth: the challenge of money and possessions, seeing them in eternity's light, giving and sharing, handling money (debt, saving, investing, teaching children), and more.
Final Thoughts
Reading and studying all three might take you four to twelve months to complete â and that's okay. Combining them with regular Scripture reading, and be willing to do the work. When you do, God's Spirit will begin to work in your life unlike you've experienced before - I promise you!
