From a Christian perspective, I'd like you to see THE END from today. This ending is actually a new beginning, but I'll address that in another article. Now, I know that some Christian groups adhere to a different timeline than the one listed below, but all devout Christ-followers who've studied their Bibles know and understand these events.
Before I get to the events, I'd like you to consider something very important (something that is assumed or often gets overlooked):
"GOD DESIGNED HUMAN BEINGS TO LIVE FOREVER!"
So, while our bodies will die, our souls will live forever - in the place of our choosing (i.e., with God or without Him)!
Where do we get this idea? Consider the following verses:
OLD TESTAMENT
• “And [in reverent fear and obedience] Enoch walked with God; and he was not [found among men], because God took him [away to be home with Him].” Genesis 5:24
• “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another.” Job 19:25-27
• “For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let Your Holy One see corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your Right Hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:10-11
• “But God will redeem me from the power of Sheol (the place of the dead); for He will receive me. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!” Psalm 49:15
• “You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to honor and glory. Whom have I in Heaven but You? And I have no delight or desire on earth besides You. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the Rock and firm Strength of my heart and my Portion forever.” Psalm 73:24-26
• “God has made everything suited to its time; also, He has given human beings an awareness of eternity; but in such a way that they can’t fully comprehend, from beginning to end, the things God does.” Ecclesiastes 3:11
• “Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise. You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For your dew is a dew of light, and the earth will give birth to the dead.” Isaiah 26:19
• “And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.” Daniel 12:2
• “I shall ransom them from the power of Sheol; I shall redeem them from Death. O Death, where are your plagues? O Sheol, where is your sting? Compassion is hidden from my eyes.” Hosea 13:14
NEW TESTAMENT
• “And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25:46
• “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
• Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26
• “In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.” John 14:2-3
•“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God [that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
• “But our citizenship is in Heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.” Philippians 3:20-21
• “Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8
• “And this is the promise that He made to us—eternal life.” 1 John 2:25
• “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
• “And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.” Revelation 22:5
