Why do the words of this song hit me deep in my soul? They do so for three reasons:
- The message of Holiness – which is important for all Christians!
- The combination of music’s seven elements (e.g., Rhythm, Melody, Harmony, Timbre, Dynamics, Texture & Form). It was done beautifully!
- As a former music major, I can tell that the song was written with the intent to encourage Believers to worship with their whole heart – NOT just to entertain them (like so many “Christian” songs do)!
Holiness is a topic that I rarely hear come across the pulpit these days, but yet it is so vital to the growth of every Believer! I’ll have more to say on this topic in other articles.
